With such a wide selection of holiday villas in France to choose from, we have only selected the ones that offer that certain 'something special'; so understandably the standards of our French villas are generally high.
Generally kitchens in our villas in France are modern and fitted with full hob, oven and microwave. There will be a fridge with freezer and most of our French villas feature a dishwasher and washing machine amongst the inventory. Where we refer to a kitchen in our French villas being of a 'country style' it means it will be less modern and probably not 'fitted'. As well as the kitchen, all our villas in France have barbecue facilities, most are built-in on the terrace and there will also be an outdoor dining area.
Living rooms are well furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs so you can truly relax. Terraces at our holiday villas in France are well furnished with sun loungers, quality garden furniture and parasols or pergolas. Bedrooms will have ample storage space and hanging space overall, but not always in each bedroom.
Bed linen, tea towels and hand towels are provided in our villas in France but you're expected to take your own beach and pool towels. A change of linen and towels can usually be arranged and paid for locally. There are no formal maid services but often these can be arranged and paid for locally. A standard final cleaning charge is payable locally and is detailed in the price list, it should be noted that the villa still needs to be left tidy and in good general order.
Where the number of bathrooms is listed under the property name we make no distinction between a bathroom and a shower room with either a bath or shower stall. The facility in each 'bathroom' will be described in the descriptive copy and toilets detailed where present.
The use of air conditioning where available in our villas in France may be subject to an additional charge. Most of the villas in the Dordogne are naturally cool in summer, the more modern villas are often equipped with ceiling fans. Similarly, most of our villas in France have central heating or radiators which make them attractive for off season rentals. A supplementary charge will apply.
Most villas have an open fire or in some cases a wood burning stove. The fire will warm the villa nicely on cool evenings and give an added cosy atmosphere. Logs are cheap and readily available.
A cot and high chair is supplied in each villa, free of charge, larger villas have two cots and two high chairs. We ensure that they are up to standard and comply with European norms. Some are of the travel cot variety and others have wooden frames and bars. Cot linen is provided. In addition to the number of guests specified in each villa description, we allow for infants sleeping in the cot or cots supplied.
The swimming pool dimensions quoted have in most cases been measured then rounded to the nearest half meter, depths are more specific and are generally accurate. With irregular shaped pools, the maximum size is quoted.
Reception is varied and often restricted to an English speaking news and a sports channel. Any extra programmes will be a bonus. Video recorders are available in many of our villas in France and standard UK videos will usually play in colour, sometimes only in black and white.
We make no apologies for the taste of our villa owners. When choosing villas, we take an overall view of the merits of each property and sometimes accept that not all rooms are exactly as we would like them. We endeavour to either tell it as it is in the description or make it clear in the photos, although we can't show every room. If you have any particular fears on this matter please ask and we'll advise you.
A security deposit is payable locally to the owner/keyholder on arrival in cash, traveller's cheque or Euro cheque. This will be returned less the standard final cleaning charge at the end of your stay. The security deposit amount is detailed in the price list.
