Villas Holidays in Pollensa

The Island of Mallorca

With its glorious beaches, warm sunshine, good food and excellent nightlife, it's no surprise that Mallorca (or Majorca if you prefer) is one of Europe's most popular destinations. Yet it's still easy to discover a more traditional Mallorca. Mallorca has so much more to offer you than simply sun, sea and sand. If you leave the beaches behind for a while, you'll discover Majorca's Gothic architecture, hilltop villages, olive groves and hidden coves, the vibrant city of Palma de Mallorca and the fabulous Serra de Tramuntana mountain ranges on the northwest coast.

From mountains to windmill dotted plains, tiny coves to long golden beaches, Mallorca has all you could wish for in a holiday destination. With its magical mountain scenery, hidden cove beaches and delightful old towns and villages, it's easy to see why the wonderfully diverse island of Mallorca has been dubbed the 'Isle of Tranquillity'.

Mallorca is typically Mediterranean with hot, dry summers in the high 20s (low 80s farenheit) and mild winters. The sea regulates extreme temperatures and pleasant sea breezes also prevent hot days from becoming too unpleasant. Mallorca experiences little rainfall, mostly tending to fall between autumn and winter.

There's so much to see and do in Mallorca, it will suit your style whether you choose to relax, explore or take part in sports and activities.

Holiday villas in Pollensa

All our holiday villas in Mallorca are within easy reach of the island's northern coast, in a beautiful area where the mountains of the Sierra Tramuntana provide a stunning backdrop for the sandy beaches in the bay of Pollensa. This is a region of Mallorca filled with citrus and olive groves, pine forests, sleepy villages and dramatic scenery.

Most of our villas are either converted farmhouses or newly built villas constructed in a traditional style, using the local stone; each has its own distinctive character and all are set in extensive private grounds and within easy reach of the picturesque old town of Pollensa.

The North East corner of Mallorca

In north east Mallorca stand the towering peaks and plunging cliffs of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range. Here you can explore a wealth of delightful little towns and enchanting villages with tiny, green-shuttered houses decked out with brilliantly coloured flowers cascading over ancient stone walls - Soller, Deia, Selva, Alcudia and Pollensa are excellent picture-perfect examples. On the coast, the traditional fishing village of Puerto Pollensa is an ideal location to relax at a waterfront bar or cafe as you watch the boats in the bay.

Pollensa

Pollensa has winding country lanes and pretty countryside; it is liberally dotted with the characteristic pale stone houses set between the old town and the sea. At the heart of Pollensa is the colourful Plaza Mayor, fringed with pavement cafes, whilst in its labyrinth of narrow streets you'll discover some excellent Mallorcan restaurants, tapas bars, galleries and specialist boutiques.

Puerto Pollensa lies in a sheltered bay just to the south of the old town, beside a pleasant beach. It's an attractive and characterful resort, ideal for families and with a host of cafes and restaurants beside the water's edge and its promenade, shaded by pine trees. Head into the town and you'll discover a charming jumble of narrow streets with yet more good quality restaurants, traditional bars, shops and boutiques.
