Costa del Sol

Costa del Sol

Known as the as the sunshine coast and for obvious reasons, with warm sunshine all year round and a beautiful coastline stretching over 150 kilometres, the Costa del Sol is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations.

The spectacular mountains scattered with white villages contrast with the miles of coastline lapped by azure blue seas and combined with the wonderful climate, make this a perfect destination for a villa or apartment holiday.

Marbella has 25 kilometres of sandy coastline broken up by wonderful marinas and fishing harbours, Benalmadena where the whitewashed old town sits alongside the cosmopolitan harbour; however, the jewel in the crown is Puerto Banus, firmly established as a favourite destination for the European jet-set

What we would do…

Puerto Banus - day

Why not take advantage of the great range of boat hire and enjoy a some excellent fishing or explore the wonderful coastline.

Marbella Old Town - day

Marbella`s old town is romantic and charming, a really good place to walk with the family, go shopping or just to explore and get to know a little more of Marbella's history.

Wander the narrow winding lanes with the local shops selling lovely jewellery, shoes and leather goods. There are loads of restaurants and cafes around the main square just perfect for a coffee or a little light lunch.

Puerto Banus Marina - Evening

It may still be the playground of the rich and famous but everyone can enjoy the buzz around the magnificent marina lined with boutiques, restaurants and bars. You can relax with a glass of wine or a cool beer and enjoy the show, beautiful people, super cars and super yachts moored in the harbour. Remember that everyone's there to enjoy the good food and excellent nightlife the Port has to offer.

Marbella - Evening

Looking for something a little different, why not take an early evening guided Segway tour of the Golden Mile beach promenade from Marbella to Puerto Banus.

Marbella and Puerto Banus are two of the most popular tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol, with many excellent restaurants serving both international and local cuisine.

Here are some examples of the most popular local dishes you may wish to try…..

Ensalada Malagueña is literally a Malaga Salad and is a speciality of the region around Marbella. This salad combines the contrasting flavour of oranges with cod and potatoes, olives and onions, and a dressing of olive oil. The combination of sweet and savoury is just right!

Espetos de Sardinas - sardines grilled on a stick over an open fire, usually an olive wood fire. Simple fisherman's fare elevated to an art form, you'll see this dish everywhere. The espeto (stick) usually has up to six sardines and sprigs of aromatic culinary herbs, such as rosemary, bay and thyme are placed on the embers to add flavour to the cooked fish.

Pescaito Frito is to be found on many menus and meaning simply “fried fish”

There are many sorts of fish that are served this way and the meal could be enjoyed with a nice local salad.
