Located in the village of Malachappe and only 200m from the coast, the area offers some great walks with 7 different marked routes and 100km of mountain bike routes. Within easy driving distance of the typical Breton ports of Brigneau, Pouldu and Doelan all offering a range of restaurants and creperies. Perhaps of more interest are the beautiful sandy beaches at Trenez plage and Kerfany, which is picture-postcard pretty, has a range of water sports and a good restaurant overlooking the bay. The forest of Carnoet and the Abbey of Saint-Maurice are other places of note nearby.

The stunning fortified sea port of Concarneau is within easy driving distance and as well as the impressive port there's also a full range of shops including delicatessens, patisseries, creperies and of course restaurants and bars.

From nearbyLorient there are daily ferry crossing to the nearby islands such as Groix which can make for a fun day out. The Interceltique music festival of Lorient takes place during the first 2 weeks of August.
