Southern Dunes is in an area of Orlando, Kissimmee, considered to be a jewel for holidays in Florida. South West Kissimmee is an appealing location, gaining popularity for the quality of the homes and the smaller, more intimate Florida communities.

The Villa Company's Florida holiday villas in Southern Dunes are located, south of Kissimmee and some 40 minutes drive from the Disney theme parks. We've always been reluctant to feature Southern Dunes in our central Florida programme as we feel it's too far from the attractions that most people come to this area to enjoy. However, we've always been very impressed by the overall quality of the Florida holiday villas here and the superb surroundings, with amenities right on the doorstep. We often recommend Southern Dunes to those looking for something a little different and away from the Florida's main attraction areas.

Southern Dunes offers a host of golf activities and recreational facilities. In addition to Southern Dunes Florida golf course, there are two recreation areas with communal swimming pool, gym, playground and tennis. At the Southern Dunes club house there's a daily lunch menu and dinner is served in the restaurant several evenings a week. Southern Dunes also has a pretty lake with picnic area by the shore and a fishing jetty - or you can simply enjoy the Florida sunshine with a leisurely stroll around the well-manicured grounds.

Beyond Southern Dunes gated entrance is an excellent shopping plaza with supermarkets, a Wal-Mart superstore (less busy than the US-192 branch), several Florida restaurants and a choice of fast food options. Also, close to Southern Dunes is a shopping mall with most of the popular Florida stores.

Epcot explores the different cultures of the world and Disney's vision of the future.

Seaworld Adventure Parks
The Seaworld Adventure Parks offer an excellent opportunity to discover everything related to marine life at Discovery Cove; along with the fun and adventure at Aquatica - Seaworld's water park - that is packed with unique water rides taking you through a habitat of dophins and grottos of tropical fish.

Florida's Kennedy Space Centre is just over an hour's drive from Ashley Manor. There's an excellent museum of space flight with many exhibits that were actually taken into space. You can take a walk around the Kennedy Space Centre rocket park and see many of the rockets that took America into space, as well as the chance to see the Shuttle close up. There's also a thrilling 360° IMAX theatre presentation which is part of this popular Florida holiday tour.

The US-192 is the main entry artery running through the central Florida area with an enormous choice of restaurants, shops, supermarkets, outlet stores and superstores such as Walmart and Target. Fort Liberty is a fun Florida holiday attraction with fairground-style rides, shops and restaurants. There are often classic car parades held here one evening each week, which are very popular.
